H. Weinreich Winey Creations Jewelry Brand

Incorporated on November 14, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, H. Weinreich Co., Inc. was a prominent jewelry manufacturer for half a century. Its founder was Harry Weinreich (1870-1944), one of the pioneers in the costume jewelry field. The company had branches, offices and show rooms in New York, Kansas City, Dallas, Miami, San Francisco, and other major cities.
Harry Weinreich married Rebecca Weinreich (born Wunderlich, Pennsylvania, 1874 – 1945) in 1899. They had 5 children: Irvin, Philip, and 3 other children. Harry Weinreich was active in the firm until the age of 74. He founded Winey Creations jewelry brand in 1936 and it became an alternative name for the H. Weinreich Co.

Following the death of their father, the second generations of jewelers, his sons Philip and Irvin successfully continued the family owned business. Philip Harry Weinreich (1912 – 1965) headed the H. Weinreich company in Pennsylvania, while Irvin Isaac Weinreich (1900–1984) devoted his entire time to their New York office.
Trademarks

Although Winey became the first and most popular brand, the company led by Philip and Irvin launched other jewelry trademarks. Among them, in particular, were Dainty Maid (since 1952), King Craft (1950), and Queen of Hearts (1954). Winey exquisite jewelry participated in jewelry exhibitions, including international ones. Also, the company paid great attention to advertising its products in fashion magazines and jewelry directories.

Noteworthy, the first mention of the company in a Jewelers’ Circular Keystone dates back to 1921. An interesting note appeared in the same directory in 1924, when their home at 2315 N.Park Ave had been looted during their absence. The last mention of the company’s management dates back to 1963 – “World who’s who in commerce and industry” directory.
